We would like to invite you to a magical place in MENORCA. From June, 2nd to 7th we will gather to enjoy the summer, to
practice yoga intensively and also to just relax. We look forward to a wonderful time with you between the turquoise waters of the
Mediterranean and the eternal light Menorca.

"When I leave Menorca I count the days until I can return, for I don’t like to spend a long time away from my island, its peace, the countryside and above
all its traditions, and the warmth and sensitivity of its people"

Joan Pons, international opera singer, native of Menorca.

Menorca lies 225km off the coast of Barcelona and can only be reached by sea or air. The most quickest and most convenient way to
get there is to fly. The island’s international airport is Mahon (MAH), situated 5km from the capital, Maˇ. The flight time is less than an
hour from major Spanish cities, around two hours from main European cities and approximately 2 hours 25 minutes from most UK airports.
Getting to Menorca from the UK is very easy as the island is well served with frequent chartered and scheduled flights from most UK
airports throughout the summer season. Airlines include EasyJet, Monarch, Jet2, Thomson, First Choice and Thomas Cook. All year round
flights are currently only offered by Monarch Airlines from Gatwick Airport (new for 2011). Otherwise it is necessary to travel to Barcelona
and then take an onward flight to the UK. (See our Travel Update section for the latest flight information). Once in Menorca, there are
frequent daily flights to Barcelona and Palma as well as regular flights to
Madrid and Valencia and three times a week to Ibiza.

By Sea For sea travel, you can also get to Menorca by ferry with several companies offering daily trips for passengers as well as vehicles.
A slow journey through France, into Spain to Barcelona and then onto Menorca makes an interesting and enjoyable alternative,
especially for non-flyers. Acciona runs a regular ferry service between Barcelona and
Menorca, the journey takes about nine hours, and
a service running between Valencia, Mallorca (Palma) and Menorca, both out of the port of Maˇ. Balearia offers a slow service out of
Maˇ to Barcelona and Mallorca (Port d’Alc˙dia) and a fast ferry service out of Ciutadella port which connects Menorca, Mallorca (Port
d'Alcudia) and Barcelona in a round trip.

Menorca is the least overrun and most tranquil of the Balearics. In 1993 Unesco declared it a Biosphere Reserve, aiming to preserve
environmental areas, such as the Parc Natural S’Albufera d’es Grau wetlands and the island’s unique archaeological sites.

The untouched beaches, coves and ravines around its 216km coastline allow the more adventurous the occasional sense of discovery!
This must be one of the few places in the Mediterranean where it is possible to have a beautiful beach largely to yourself in summer.
Some say the island owes much to Franco for not being overrun with tourist development. While neighboring
Mallorca went over to
the Nationalists almost at the outset of the civil war, Menorca resisted. Franco later ‘rewarded’
Mallorca with a construction free-for-all
and penalized Menorca by blocking development!

The second-largest and northernmost of the Balearics, Menorca also has a wetter climate and is usually a few degrees cooler than the
other islands. The ‘windy island’ is relentlessly buffeted by tramuntana winds from the north. Check out the tourist information website
